Outcomes

The Department has established the following six overarching goals:

1. Sustain an excellent BAUP program to provide an outstanding liberal arts education and to prepare intellectually grounded students for careers in planning and planning-related fields.
2. Sustain an excellent MUP program to educate intellectually grounded planners for leadership roles in the profession or pursuit of research careers.
3. Sustain an excellent PhD program to educate planners capable of scholarly research and teaching for positions in leading universities and research institutions.
4. Provide a research-rich environment for faculty and students with a sustainable and balanced portfolio of funded and non-funded research and professional scholarship.
5. Maintain active involvement with and commitment to the planning profession.
6. Stress the inclusion of all cultures, genders, age groups, and income levels in the learning process and the practice of planning.

Each goal is accompanied by specific objectives and indicators used to track progress on an annual basis.
