UP 510 - Plan Making

Overview:

The purpose of this course is to expose students to messy planning situations, consider specific techniques that contribute to coping with messy situations and help create some order for the process. You will gain experience in applying methods in incompletely defined, realistic planning situations. Techniques that we will consider include: decision-analysis, multi-attribute evaluation, dispute resolution, and collaborative scenario planning. Using these techniques and skills you bring to the class, we will make plans (or more accurately, plan for plans). Exercises will be in multiple topical areas to provide you with an opportunity to apply techniques learnt on a problem close to you and to learn from others.
