Student Planning Organization (SPO)
Welcome to the Student Planning Organization of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
SPO's mission is to provide a vehicle for communication between staff, faculty and students in the planning program, provide forums for workshops and discussions, and organize social events for the department.
SPO is a student run organization that focuses on student needs. If you are interested in coming to Illinois as an undergrad or graduate student, we want to help!

Special Events
DURP goes to St. Louis!
Join a group of your fellow planning students on a trip to St. Louis, where we will meet with planners from the East-West Gateway Council of Governments as well as other planners in the area. We will leave Champaign at 6:30 AM and spend all day on Friday, April 27th in St. Louis learning from experienced professionals. The cost to attend will be roughly $15 per person excluding food, and we are planning to use rental vehicles from the University as transportation. SPO laughs...IMPROV!
Join the SPO at the Courtyard Cafe in the Illini Union for a night of great improv comedy courtesy of the Titanic Players! This event will take place on April 7th at 8:00 PM. A $2 donation is suggested.
Illini Night at US Cellular Field!
Come out to support the SPO and catch a night of Chicago White Sox baseball on Friday, June 1st at 7:10 PM. Tickets will cost $20, and $4.27 per ticket purchased will go to supporting the SPO's future professional development events and Saturday Seminars.
